Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club’s stables full for summer season
The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC) has announced its 169 stables have officially all been filled for the summer season.
This year, polo players including Guillermo Terrera (7 goals), Jack Hyde (5 goals) and Manuel Plaza (5 goals) are stabled at RCBPC.
While in prior years, the club has sometimes offered temporary stabling for the summer season, to ensure the best possible experience is being offered to those stabled at RCBPC, and preserve the track, arena, facilities and equipment, this year stabling will be limited to permanent stables only.
Nell Jacob, polo manager at RCBPC, said: “We are delighted that so many players are stabling their horses with us and choosing to play at the Berkshire. It’s a real vote of confidence in our team and facilities, and the top-quality experience we can provide for our members. The season has already got off to a great start and we’re looking forward to a busy summer with plenty of events scheduled for polo lovers and the local community.”
Banksy at the Berkshire
The Berkshire was recently host to works by the likes of Banksy, Frank Canvas and Kirstie Taylor as part of a collaboration with Grove Gallery in London.
During the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy tournament, previously unseen works by Frank Canvas and sculptures by Kirstie Taylor were displayed across the club grounds, exclusive Banksy and Steve Lazarides pieces were put on show in the marquee, and paintings by Zara Muse were hung in the clubhouse and private pavilion.
Frank Canvas has created a bespoke series of artworks for the Berkshire to exhibit, drawing directly from the club’s legacy, blending archival references with contemporary aesthetics.
As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC) has partnered with the gallery for the summer season, with the next exhibition taking place at the Eduardo Moore Final on Sunday 13 July: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/eduardo-moore-final-tickets-1401610297129?aff=oddtdtcreator
Lexi Lea, commercial and operations director at RCBPC, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting artworks by some of our generation’s most forward-thinking artists this summer, in partnership with Grove Gallery. Each piece resonates with the club’s values, history, and environment, sparking conversation among our members and event attendees. As a club, it’s important to us to continue upholding the values and legacy of our founder Bryan Morrison, who was a true patron of the arts, by supporting and providing a platform for upcoming and established artists.”
The Berkshire to host first dog show in aid of Battersea
The Berkshire is to host its first-ever fun dog show following the final of the John Prestwich Challenge Trophy this month.
Held in aid of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, the event will take place on 14 June and will be open to all humans and canines.
Categories will include Waggiest Tail, ‘Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home’, Best Outfit, and Scruffiest or Fluffiest, as well as a ‘Musical Sit’ competition.
Tickets to attend for the day, including the final of the John Prestwich Challenge Trophy, are free (with a donation encouraged!) while entry into the dog show is £5 per dog per class. All funds raised will go towards the work Battersea does to support animals in need of a home.
RCBPC members can also donate £50 to take part in judging a class and can request to judge a specific class, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Nell Jacob, polo manager at RCBPC, said: “The Berkshire team and our members are of course all passionate animal lovers, many of whom have their own dogs, so we wanted to put on an event that included and celebrated our human and canine friends. And given that Battersea has an animal shelter based in Old Windsor, just 15 minutes from the club, we thought this would be a fantastic and fun way to support a charity in our local community.”
Aureus Polo win the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy 2025
On a sunny afternoon in May the crowds gathered at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club to watch the 40th Prince of Wales Trophy, named after the now HRH King Charles III, who officially opened the club in 1986.
Bryan Morrison, the club founder, won the trophy in 1991 and his son, the current chairman, Jamie Morrison won in 2003.
After 2 weeks, 13 matches, 12 teams and 1 penalty shoot-out, Aureus Polo & Calatagan LL made their way to the final of the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy 2025. In an action packed and adrenaline fuelled game, Aureus Polo came out victorious 11- 8.
RCPBC are thrilled to have welcomed back Justerini & Brooks back for their 5th consecutive year sponsoring the Prince of Wales Trophy.
Justerini & Brooks was founded in 1749, making them one of Britain’s longest standing fine wine and spirit merchants. They have been granted Royal warrants by every consecutive British monarch since King George III for their world-renowned portfolio and services.
They have been leaders in the industry for over 275 years. Today, their team of experts continue to seek out the best wines and spirits from across the globe and develop the relationships with those suppliers. They are, rightly, proud to represent some of the leading winemakers and Chateaux all around the world.
Tree-planting offers Berkshire Polo Club members chance to leave their legacy
Members at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC) can become part of club history by taking part in a tree-planting initiative that is set to benefit both the ponies and the local environment.
As temperatures continue to increase and summers get hotter, RCBPC is planning to plant numerous trees around the grounds to provide more shade to the ponies in hotter weather. Members will have the chance to ‘sponsor’ their own tree, which will bear a plaque of their name.
The initiative will be open to members only, who can choose from oak, willow or birch, which will be planted along the ground 1 and 3 pony lines as well as by the tennis courts.
Grounds staff at RCBPC will begin planting the trees in the first week of June. Members will be contacted soon about how to sign up for the opportunity.
Lexi Lea, commerical director and operations director, RCBPC, said: “Further tree cover hasn’t really been needed at the club until now, but after the past few years where the summers have been so hot and springs so wet, adding more trees to specific areas on our grounds will help with water absorption and provide the ponies with more shade during the summer. We thought it would be a great idea to give our members the opportunity to get involved and leave their own legacy at the same time.”
Members looking to sponsor a tree should contact the polo office onpolo@rcbpc.com

Some of the world’s top polo players are set to compete in the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy 2025, taking place at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC).
Starting on 3 May and running until 17 May, it is the first major high goal tournament of the season in England and will take place on RCBPC’s ground 1 following a six-month long investment programme into the grounds, which recently completed in time for the event.

Nell Jacob, polo manager at RCBPC, said: “The Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy is always a highlight of our season – not only for the incredible display of polo, but for the whole experience. There is always a great atmosphere on the sidelines which makes it a brilliant day out for polo fans or if you’re watching for the first time.”

Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club appoints new Polo Manager
The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club (RCBPC) has promoted Nell Jacob to the position of Polo Manager.
Jacob has been a member of the club since she was 15 years old and worked as Assistant Polo Manager for the last five years. Before joining RCBPC, she was Assistant Polo Manager at Ranelagh Farm Polo Club for four years.
Her role includes responsibility for all polo played at the club and related logistics, as well as managing membership and facilities, including 170 stables and 16 grooms’ accommodations. She will also work with the grounds team to ensure the polo fields are in top condition and safe for both players and ponies.
She will report to the club directors, Jamie Morrison and Karina Audeh, whose father Bryan Morrison founded the club in 1985. Jacob takes on the role following the departure of Simon McDonald after 13 years of service to return to Ireland to run his family farm.
Nell Jacob, Polo Manager at RCBPC, said: “I am grateful for being given the opportunity to manage one of the top five clubs in the country. The Berkshire is like home to me, and I am committed to continuing its growth and future. The club has been a part of my life for a long time – before I started working here, I was a member from the age of 15, so it is a place very close to my heart!
“Whilst we already have a fantastic group of members and well supported tournaments, a big focus this season will be growing this to be even bigger and better. Our members embrace Bryan’s vision of inclusivity, family and great times in a stunning location. I would really like to emphasis this aspect of the club when bringing in new members – playing or social. I am also aiming to build relationships with local businesses to benefit both our members and the local community. We are a small business and the whole team live locally so we are passionate about creating a strong relationship with our neighbours.”
